Through the loss of loved ones- friends and family members, I realized that life is short and we only have one life to live. Each of my lossed love ones could have lived longer, more happily and with more meaning; instead, many died with regrets. I started analyzing what makes life successful or significant. Afterwards, my priorities and focus changed: I decided to walk towards my dream, goal and mission while cherishing people around me and making a positive difference to the world. I chose ‘heartworking’.

Lesson Learned

My second book starts by saying “It is not about Hardworking but Heartworking. It is not about Networking but Heartworking”. I think this is the summary of what I have learned as my business lesson.

Magic Moment

My magic moment came when I realized why I had extremely different experiences in my life ; why there were both miserable and happy moments. I understood what makes a miserable life and a happier life, and how to share that with others so they can have a flourishing life as well.

Work Motto:

"Love Never Fails, Love Achieves Big." This has been my life motto for more than 20 years. In both my business and personal life, I strive toward love, peace and understanding, even in difficult situations of conflict, misunderstanding, competition and other negative circumstances. When you love your work and people more, you can achieve more.

Something you're doing now that would surprise your 20 year old self:

I am doing exactly what I was dreaming of long ago. I opened myself up to the global world around my 20th birthday. Before that, I was inside of Korea speaking only Korean but I had a dream to share my experiences internationally and contribute through books and education. My 20 year old self would be surprised how brave I have been to achieve things: I was such an introvert, thinking and writing silently, but I worked to overcome myself to pursue my vision and calling one step at a time, growing inch by inch every day. And I am here.

Your favorite part of the business day:

My best part of the day is when I cook for my family and have dinner. One of my hobbies is to collect cook books on business or family trips overseas. We try different simple dishes together and have a fun conversation with our children over dinner. Food is an excellent medium for sharing our hearts. Children’s talk is always hilarious and full of creative ideas and insightful lessons. I love this time. I play the piano and sing a few cross-over songs after dinner for myself and children, it's very soothing and stress reducing.
