I met Christa Pepper at a conference in Lake Tahoe last spring and from the moment I set eyes on her I knew that not only was she an incredibly unique and talented professional, I also knew that I had to get to know her better on a personal level.
What was it that really stood out to me about Christa Pepper? For one, when she walks into a room you know it. She's laughing, she's talking to a stranger and making them feel better about where they are right now. Her positive energy comes into a room even before she does.
When I did get a chance to have a one on one chat with Christa, all of my instincts were proven to be true. We fell into a casual, friendly conversation immediately and I made a mental note that I wanted to share not only Christa's story but also help her celebrate her own professional milestones.
When Christa let me know that she had co-written a book with 19 other strong, wonderful women I knew the time was right to share her story as an Editor's Spotlight here in Influence. Her book is titled, "I'm 30, Now What?!" and has already been named an Amazon best-seller.
Without further delay, I'd like to introduce you to a woman who focuses on Body Positive Transformations through her work as a trainer and empowerment coach. Please meet Christa Pepper, an inspiration and a woman I am proud to call my friend,
Sharon Ricci,

Core offering - What do you offer your clients?
I teach women how to love themselves today, while working towards a healthier tomorrow. The fitness industry has failed us, it's always, “Here is your fitness, here is your nutrition, see you next week.” What about the other 22 hours? The hours when the Mean Girl in your head shows up? With me you get your fitness and nutrition & the heart work that’s ready to tackle your inner Mean Girl when she makes a visit.
Who do you work with?
I work with women who've tried it ALL to lose the weight - the pills, the shakes, the crash diets, the do or die attempts and the voodoo magic, really, desperate times call for desperate measures, right?! I work with women who are ready for a different approach, a lasting change.
What makes you and your business unique compared to your competitors?
Firstly, this isn't a “Here is your fitness program, here is your nutrition, have a great day” sort of program. I work closely with my clients to personalize and customize their program to them - to their lifestyle, their goals, their needs. We strategize together ways to work through longstanding habits and behaviors regarding food, fitness, and self. The fitness and nutrition are the bonuses - we all know we SHOULD work out and eat the broccoli ... so why don't we?
Why did you write the book, "I'm 30, Now What?!". What did you want to share?
I have always wanted to be an Author, writing is a passion, a love - in fact, a journal process is a big piece of what I work through with my clients. I wanted to share my story, because I believe there is power in vulnerability. I think we relate to the people who share with us, that we are not alone in our struggles, and despite our struggles we can still be pretty badass.
What message are you sending people with your words?
“You do not have to be perfect, you just have to be a little bit better of a person than who you were yesterday.”
Who do you think "I'm 30, Now What?!" will help?
Women in general as it is a collection of strong women voices. I hope my chapter helps women suffering from postpartum depression, inner Mean Girl battles and weight loss plus women looking to find their own worth…. Basically all women!!
What did you learn so far in life that you share in your book?
It's never too late to decide who you want to be.
What is the calling for your life?
To help empower women to be vulnerable, to get over the idea of perfectionism. Look, most of us don't make rainbow colored spaghetti for our kids, we leave the house and forget to turn off our flat iron, we have garbage in the bottom of our purse, we have cellulite and stretchmarks, we curse, we say the wrong things, but at the end of the day, we are all pretty fucking amazing. Perfectly imperfect.
What character traits have been most important in getting to where you are today?
Strength, a drive to constantly grow and change and an insatiable love of knowledge.
What is your inner voice telling you about work and what your purpose is?
I have so many more lives to touch, so many more women to help, KEEP GOING!
What is one thing you know for sure?
We are all a bit of a hot mess, perfectly imperfect, and yet, total badasses!
What message are you sending people with your actions?
If I can push through than so can you, with a little sweat, a little grace, and a lot of laughs!
What are you grateful for?
My family, the people I surround myself with that push me to be better.
Jeans or Khakis?
Yoga pants, jeans are for dress up days!
Watch or play sports?
Watch! NHL, NFL, Olympics!
Coffee, beer or wine?
Coffee and water.
Feet up on the desk or flat on the floor?
Both? The feet go up when I need a break, helps the blood flow go back to my head… creative process 101.
Vacation close to home or across the world?
Oh how I would love to travel the world!
Beach or ski resort?
Beach! Though we are significantly limited here in Nevada!
Plane, train, ship or automobile?
I need to get on the train and ship bandwagon, for sure!
Your weekend: Plan every moment or wing it?
Saturdays are planned, Sundays are chill.
